What is World Usability Day?
World Usability Day was founded in 2005 as an initiative of the Usability Professionals’ Association to ensure that services and products important to human life are easier to access and simpler to use.
It’s about "Making Life Easy" and user friendly. Technology today is too hard to use. A cell phone should be as easy to access as a doorknob.
In order to humanize a world that uses technology as an infrastructure for education, healthcare, transportation, government, communication, entertainment, work and other areas, we must develop these technologies in a way that serves people first … (source from World Usability Day)
Introducing ehi2 expertise in usability assessment
Usability addresses the quality of a product from the perspective of the people who use it, in short, how easy they find it to use or learn.
It applies to all products ranging from software, web and mobile applications, through to medical devices.
Put simply, usable products are effective; users are able to achieve what they want without requiring assistance.
Usable products are efficient; users do not need to spend a vast amount of time completing a task, thinking about what something means or performing an excessive number of clicks to find it.
Usable products are safe and productive, healthcare professionals are able to spend more time treating a patient rather than dealing with the product, and are less likely to commit a medical error because of poor design.
