Sony UK Tec is situated in Pencoed South Wales, conveniently located next to the M4 and has been established in the area for almost 40 years.

The heart of today’s operation at Pencoed is centered on the manufacture of high technology Broadcast and Professional Cameras and Camera Systems for world-wide markets. Cameras and equipment produced in Pencoed can be found in sports stadiums, in studios and outside broadcast units around the world. All materials used in the processes are subjected to rigorous testing and measurement to ensure quality is “built in” upstream.

In addition to it’s core business operations, Sony UK Tec also has the largest Sony Service operation in the UK located on site as well as a Third Party Manufacturing Division known as Collaborative Manufacturing Solutions (CMS) which currently has customers in the medical, renewables and consumer electronics sectors.

        

The CMS Division is underpinned by a highly skilled and flexible workforce utilising some of the latest state of the art manufacturing equipment and processes much of which is common to that used in the Broadcast and Professional operation.

Sony UK Tec is now looking to broaden the scope of its CMS Division and attract new customers, particularly in the medical device sector, and sees it’s partnership with MediWales as central to that strategy. Sony UK Tec are able to support potential customers in a number of ways such helping to guide the client through the product approvals process, managing the supply chain including access to Sony’s global component pricing, as well as stringent testing throughout the manufacturing process to assure world class quality.
