New CEO Announced at SEHTA

SEHTA has appointed Neil Roberts, previously COO of SEHTA to become our new CEO, following the retirement of Dr David Parry after 16 years in the position.  Neil comes with an immense amount of medtech industry experience and we welcome him to the role and to continue working with our members and contacts.

Dr David Parry says “I will be sad to leave my position as CEO, as it has been an immense privilege to work in this sector and with partners like you all. When I accepted the role all those years ago, the driver for me was to make a difference in a sector which impacted directly on people’s lives and I believe that SEHTA and its team have achieved this on many levels.

I will not be disappearing off the SEHTA scene however, as I will be  working with Neil and the SEHTA team as an advisor and I will also retain my position on the Board of SEHTA. With Neil at the helm and the current SEHTA Team in support, I see SEHTA moving forwards and doing even greater things on behalf of it’s 1500 members and impacting very positively in the health ecosystem in London, the south east, the rest of the UK and overseas”.

Neil Roberts, COO, SEHTA says “Firstly I would like to thank David for his great leadership and direction in building SEHTA into the strong community it is today.

Despite the dreadful effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the nation’s health and our economy, this last year has, by necessity, seen transformation in the provision of healthcare. Who would have thought that within a year the proportion of patients seen remotely by their GPs would have shifted from <3% to >98%.

As I take over as CEO of SEHTA I realise I start in a new era of health and social care – characterised by the combination of new approaches in clinical practice, possible with the benefit of innovative technology, set in a system that has demonstrated the ability to support a high degree of change. This creates tremendous opportunity for our members, and I am looking forward to working with them in these new and exciting times.”
