Welsh colleagues,

The £40million Wales SME Investment Fund and the £15m Wales Economic Growth Fund are being launched by the Welsh Government as a direct response to the continuing difficulties faced by businesses in Wales in raising finance. The stimulus provided by the two funding packages will help businesses of all sizes and in all sectors across all areas of Wales.

The £15M Wales Economic Growth Fund is a short term, fast track fund for business, providing immediate access to capital funding for investments that will create and retain jobs. Grants are not repayable or restricted to any specific sectors.

It is a time-limited offer with bids invited between 12th December 2011 and 31st January 2012, with the application process as simple and straightforward as possible.

Applications from overseas companies who are considering investing in Wales will also be welcomed.

Any offers will be time limited to ensure grants are taken up and used before the end of 2012.

All applications will be assessed and offers made subject to due diligence where required, no later than 14 working days after a valid application is received.
