Chromogenex Technologies, the cosmetic treatment company, has forecast its turnover will almost double to £12.5m this year because of strong US sales.
Llanelli-based Chromogenex said it had gained a big sales boost from its slimming device, iLipo. It was introduced into the North American market in July 2011 and now accounts for more than 60 per cent of the company’s total sales. Last year the company’s turnover was £6.9m.
Chromogenex received £290,000 funding support from the Welsh Government through the Single Investment Fund and repayable finance. The Welsh Government said the cash had helped to create 19 jobs and buy equipment to reduce manufacturing costs.
Chromogenex won the MediWales Export Achievment Award in 2011 and 2012. In 2011 they went on to win the Medilink UK Award for Export.
