Captum MasterClass: Valuing Technology
Valuing technology presents some unique problems. This MasterClass will review commonly used techniques for technology valuation. It will assume no prior knowledge of valuation methodology, and will focus on practicalities rather than corporate finance theory; a basic knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and accounting methods is assumed. It is intended primarily for early stage companies, university technology transfer managers, investors and their advisors, and will include case studies and real examples.
Captum’s MasterClass: Valuing Technology is a non- mathematical introduction to technology valuation methods, leading to Risk Adjusted Net Present Value, the most widely used method. A case will be used to illustrate each method, and there will be several practice exercises for delegates.
Topics covered will include:
- Subjective valuation; score cards
- Market value
- Asset/cost value
- Comparison value
- Net Present value
- Risk adjusted net present value and Monte Carlo simulation
- How cognitive biases effect value
